Fanburg and Manigan named to Murphy Transition TeamNovember 27, 2017

ROSELAND, N.J., November 20, 2017 Brach Eichler LLC has announced that John D. Fanburg, managing member and chair of the health law practice, and Mark Manigan, a member in the health law practice, have been named to the healthcare transition subcommittee by New Jersey Governor Elect Phil Murphy. The committee will meet throughout the state over the next two months and submit reports and recommendations to Murphy and his team before Inauguration Day on January 16, 2018.

Fanburg, who resides in Livingston, NJ, is also a member of Brach Eichler’s Executive Committee.  Fanburg has more than 30 years’ experience in health and hospital law, with an emphasis on corporate, transactional and regulatory matters for physicians and health care institutions.  He helps health care providers position themselves to deal with the constantly evolving medical marketplace, particularly health care reform. This includes advising clients about mergers and acquisitions, other business ventures, and various health care business arrangements. Fanburg provides counsel on strategic alliances and transactions relating to ACOs and medical homes and offers guidance on regulatory compliance, corporate compliance, HIPAA, litigation, and government investigations. In 2004, he was appointed by former New Jersey Governor James McGreevey to serve as a member of New Jersey's Mandated Health Benefits Advisory Commission.

Manigan, who resides in Maplewood, NJ, is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.  He represents health systems, ambulatory care facilities, physician groups, long-term care facilities, real estate operators and health care entrepreneurs. In addition, he serves as general counsel for many closely held health care-related businesses and has been retained as special health care counsel by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Trustee.  He previously was appointed to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's Transition Team, serving on the health care subcommittee. He was also selected by the chairman of the New Jersey State Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee, Gary S. Schaer (D-Passaic), to serve on a working group analyzing out-of-network health insurance issues and also served on the New Jersey Department of Health's Patient Safety Adverse Event Committee.
