A woman injured in a motor vehicle crash will receive $735,000 as compensation in her Bergen County personal injury suit.  The parties reached an agreement during a settlement conference in Bergen County with Judge Lisa Perez-Friscia.  The plaintiff’s attorney was Alex Capozzi from Brach Eichler LLC in Roseland.

The plaintiff brought a personal injury claim against the defendant for negligence.  The defendant  agreed to pay $735,000 in damages.

On March 26, 2015, the plaintiff was operating a motor vehicle on Ridge Road in Lyndhurst when the defendant’s vehicle made an illegal u-turn, causing a collision with the plaintiff’s vehicle.

As a result of the accident, the plaintiff sustained a concussion and an aggravation of a pre-existing cervical and lumbar condition.  A cervical MRI revealed that a pre-existing herniated disc increased in size from a prior cervical MRI taken in 2013. As a result, the plaintiff was required to undergo an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.  An MRI of the brain using Diffusor Tensor Imaging (DTI) also revealed that the plaintiff sustained a mild traumatic brain injury.
