Freireich Helps Client Negotiate Down Unknowingly Acquired Tax DebtJanuary 8, 2015

In a recent case handled by Jay J. Freireich, a manufacturing client purchased a manufacturing business which owed $400,000.00 in tax debt. There was no attorney involved and no proper due diligence was undertaken.  As such, the client unknowingly acquired the tax debt when acquiring the company.  As the company was unable to afford these taxes, Mr. Freireich dealt with revenue agents at the Internal Revenue Service and was able to negotiate this tax debt down to under $100,000.00 and all federal tax liens have now been removed.
