NJDEP Releases Updated Monitored Natural Attenuation Technical Guidance Available

NJDEP announced its Updated Monitored Natural Attenuation Technical Guidance that is now available. Highlights include a section to address sites where contaminant concentrations are observed to decrease over time to an asymptomatic level but one that is above applicable remediation standards and whether they can still be a candidate for monitored natural attenuation (MNA) remedy and provides clarification on the necessary sampling collection used to support MNA.

The updated MNA guidance can be found on NJDEP’s website in the Guidance Library.
