Tax Alert | More Online Services Available To Business Owners

As part of its effort to expand online access, the IRS announced on December 18, 2023 a new program under its Business Tax Account site at IRS.gov/businesses/business-tax-account. The program will allow sole proprietors, S corporation shareholders and partners to access and download various business transcripts.
Under this new online tool, users can download a pdf of the following business tax transcripts:
- For sole proprietors, Forms 940,941,943,944, 945, 8752,8288,11-C,730 and 2290.
- For S corporations, Forms 940,941, 943, 944, 945, 8752, 8288, 11-C,730, 1120S, and 2290.
- For partnerships, Form 940, 941, 943, 944,945, 1065, 8288, 8804m 11-C,730, and 2290.
Additionally, sole proprietors can view certain notices.
Individual partners and individual shareholders will be able to access Schedule K-1 information once a business return has been filed ( with Schedule K-1s) and processed by the IRS. In order to access individuals must have a schedule K-1 for a minimum of one year during the 2019-2022 period on file.
Sole proprietors with an EIN qualify to access their business tax account.
This is the first step in the IRS’s effort to make the Business Tax Account online system a one stop application to provide an array of digital products and services to business taxpayers. Brach Eichler tax attorneys are available to assist you with access and any tax questions you may have.
