Douglas E. Motzenbecker

Douglas Motzenbecker counsels clients on all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, with a particular focus on ERISA. He advises clients on ERISA litigation and related proceedings, including benefit claims, breach of fiduciary duty actions, and the management of ERISA-governed pension and welfare plans. Douglas helps clients navigate the evolving regulatory landscape to ensure compliance with IRS and DOL requirements, mitigating risk across their benefits programs. He also represents clients in connection with DOL investigations.

With extensive experience in employment litigation, Douglas defends employee matters arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, and comparable New York City and New York State laws. He also has significant experience defending complex Directors and Officers litigation.
