Senate Bill 2283, introduced in the New Jersey Senate on January 9, 2024, would establish the “Psilocybin Behavioral Health Access and Services Act”. This Bill would authorize the production and use of psilocybin to promote health and wellness while at the same time decriminalize and expunge past offenses involving psilocybin production, possession, use, and distribution. The intent of the Bill is to provide the individuals with safe, legal, and affordable psilocybin services so that New Jersey residents, 21 years of age or older, may access psilocybin to combat distress, provide preventative behavioral health care, and foster wellness and personal growth.
